Vivienne Hull, author of
Iona ~ A Guide to the Sacred Isle,
was born and raised in Northern Ireland. In this book she brings to life the rich heritage of Iona and the Celtic Christian tradition.
With her husband, Fritz, the author founded the Chinook Learning Center and the Whidbey Institute on Whidbey Island, Washington. She is associate director of their most recent project, Spirit of Legacy, which includes the School for Knowing Home and its programs on spirituality and
nature for children and young adults. Vivienne Hull is a Lindisfarne Fellow and, with her hus band, a co-recipient of the 2007 Thomas Berry Award. She and Fritz live on Whidbey Island.
Fritz Hull, author of the Iona Report - Story of an Enduring vision, is director of the Spirit of Legacy project and the School For Knowing Home — programs of the Whidbey Institute. He is a founding director of the Whidbey Institute and co-founder of the Chinook Learning Center, which he co-directed for nearly twenty years. An ordained Presbyterian minister, Hull served as a campus minister at the University of Washing- ton in Seattle from 1963 to 1972. In 1966 Hull and his wife, Vivienne, purchased land on Whidbey Island, Washington, where in 1972, with a group of friends, they established the Chinook Learning Center.
Fritz Hull was born and raised in Seattle. Hull edited Earth & Spirit: The Spiritual Dimension of the Environmental Crisis, published in 1993.
