Packing Made Easy (Or, Travel Light!)

Yes, travel light! You'll be glad! Casual, comfortable, waterproof, and warm is the order of the day. Though May is often a lovely month, be prepared for rain and possibly colder weather than at home. The North wind does indeed blow! Plan on "layers." Bring a warm sweater, or fleece jacket. A waterproof jacket with hood is absolutely essential,. We also recommend lightweight waterproof pants, warm socks, and a hat. You can purchase wonderful woolen hats, scarves, gloves, and sweaters in Oban and the craft shop on Iona. The weather may also be brilliantly sunny and warm. So come prepared for a bit of everything!
As the saying goes in Scotland, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a bit"
You will definitely be walking over boggy meadows, so comfortable, waterproof shoes or lightweight boots are really important. Bring tennis shoes and flats or slippers to wear in the Hotel. Don’t forget a day pack to hold your camera, journal, snacks, etc. when you are out hiking. Bring any prescription medications with you.
